Sheila Chajira attains World Rugby Level 2 accreditation

Kenyan international Sheila Chajira has achieved her World Rugby Level Two coaching certification in 7s, joining a growing list of coaches with this prestigious accreditation.

The milestone was confirmed by the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) via their social media platforms, where they celebrated her achievement, stating:

“Leading by example. Congratulations to Sheila Chajira on your World Rugby Level Two 7s coaching accreditation.”

Chajira, who was appointed Kenya Harlequin Queens head coach earlier this year, has had an illustrious rugby career.

She represented Kenya at the 2016 Summer Olympics as part of the women’s national rugby sevens team and competed in multiple World 7s Series events as well as Rugby Africa tournaments.

She officially joined the Kenya Harlequin coaching staff in May 2025 when the club unveiled its technical bench for the 2025/26 season, working under Head Coach Patrice Agunda.

The revamped technical team also includes Simon Odongo as Deputy Head Coach and Head of Sevens and 15s Defence, Michael Shamiah as Strength & Conditioning Coach (formerly with KCB Rugby), Willy Ambaka as Strength & Conditioning Coach (former Kenya 7s star), Eden Agero as Assistant Coach in charge of Skills & Attack, and Brian Oyiengo as Assistant Coach responsible for development squads and women’s rugby.

The Physiotherapy Department is led by Gerald Omondi as Head of Department, supported by Kate Muisyo and Kennedy Barua.

In team management, Wayne Mungei serves as the General Team Manager, while Christeve Wangila takes charge as the Women’s Team Manager.
