World Rugby has confirmed the schedule for the 2027 HSBC SVNS 1 Series and World Championship, with all host cities from the 2026 season returning as the race to qualify for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games gets underway.
The 2027 HSBC SVNS Series will once again visit Dubai, Cape Town, Singapore, Perth, Vancouver and New York, before culminating in the HSBC SVNS World Championship across Hong Kong, Valladolid and Bordeaux.
2026 HSBC SVNS host cities retained for 2027
The Series will kick off in Dubai on November 28-29 before moving to Cape Town on December 5-6. Action will resume in Singapore on January 30-31, 2027, followed by Perth on February 6-7, Vancouver on March 6-7 and New York on March 13-14.
The World Championship will then be staged in Hong Kong from April 9-11, Valladolid from May 21-23, before concluding in Bordeaux from May 28-30.
Road to Los Angeles 2028 begins
World Rugby Sevens World Series General Manager Sam Pinder said the return of all host destinations builds on the success of the previous season while marking the beginning of the qualification pathway to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
“We are delighted to confirm the return of all our host destinations for the 2027 HSBC SVNS Series and World Championship events, building on the strong foundations established. With the race to qualify for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games beginning, the 2027 season will carry added significance as the world’s best teams compete for the opportunity to reach the pinnacle tournament,” he stated.

HSBC SVNS Div2, 3 schedules to follow
World Rugby said further information, including the schedules for HSBC SVNS Division Two and Division Three, will be announced in due course.
The 2027 season will be the second under World Rugby’s revamped three-tier competition format, which was introduced in 2026.
Kenya’s Shujaa will be among the teams awaiting the Division Two schedule after narrowly missing promotion to HSBC SVNS Division One last season.
Shujaa impressed in Division Two to qualify for the three-leg World Championship series in Hong Kong, Valladolid and Bordeaux, but fell short of securing a core place in the top tier after finishing outside the promotion positions following the final leg in Bordeaux.
