Kisii School and Upper Hill School are set to clash in the final of the KSSSA National 15s Rugby after edging past their opponents in tightly contested semi-finals played at Kisumu Polytechnic on Friday.
Upper Hill booked their place in the final following a dramatic 12-11 victory over Kakamega School in the first semi-final. Kakamega made a bright start, slotting in a penalty before crossing over for an unconverted try to take an 8-0 lead.
The Nairobi-based side responded strongly, scoring a converted try to reduce the deficit to a single point heading into the break. In the second half, Kakamega extended their lead with a penalty to make it 11-7.
However, after sustained pressure and disciplined defence, Upper Hill found a late breakthrough, scoring a last-minute try to snatch a 12-11 win and seal their place in the final.

In the second semi-final, Kisii School saw off St Mary’s School Yala 13-3 in a revenge mission after their loss in the Nyanza Region final. Kisii led 3-0 at halftime before turning on the style in the second half, adding 10 more points to secure victory.
The win sees Kisii School reach back-to-back finals as they continue their hunt for a maiden KSSSA National 15s title.
