Kabras RFC produced a statement performance in the Enterprise Cup quarterfinals, thrashing Uganda’s record champions Heathens 61–19 at the Royal Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, to storm into the semifinals.
The Sugarmen signaled their intent from the onset, naming a strong matchday 23 packed with international experience, and they wasted no time asserting dominance.
George Nyambua opened the scoring with the first try for Kabras, though the Man of the Match Eric Cantona missed the conversion. Cantona then turned scorer himself, crossing over for the second try, but again failed to add the extras as Kabras moved 10–0 ahead.
Heathens responded through Malcolm Okello, who slotted a penalty to reduce the deficit to 10–3. However, Kabras quickly regained control when Jone Kubu sold a neat dummy before slicing through to score, with Cantona adding the conversion for a 17–3 lead.
Cantona extended the advantage further with a penalty to make it 20–3 before Okello replied with another penalty for Heathens. Eugene Sifuna then powered over for another Kabras try, though the conversion was missed.
Speedster Griffin Chao capped off a dominant first-half display, diving over in the corner for Kabras’ fifth try to send the Kenyan side into the break with a commanding 30–6 lead.

Kabras picked up right where they left off in the second half, with inside centre Walter Okoth crossing over early on, though the conversion was missed. Okello added another penalty for Heathens to make it 35–9, but that would do little to slow the Kabras momentum.
Chao completed his brace in the 47th minute, this time with Cantona successfully converting to stretch the lead to 42–9.
Heathens showed some fight, with Jordan crossing over for a try and Okello adding the conversion, before the fly-half also slotted another penalty to take their tally to 19 points.
But Kabras remained relentless. Another try pushed the score to 47–19 before Derrick Ashiundu and Mathias Osimbo both crossed the whitewash in the closing stages. Barry Young added the extras for both, sealing an emphatic 61–19 victory at full time.
The result sends Kabras RFC into the semifinals in dominant fashion, underlining their credentials as strong contenders for the Enterprise Cup title.
