Kabras RFC have received a major boost ahead of their Enterprise Cup quarterfinal clash with Heathens RFC8, with Jone Kubu named in the starting lineup for Saturday’s 2:00 p.m. encounter at Royal Mutesa Stadium.

The utility back returns after a spell on the sidelines, having last featured during Kabras’ dominant wins over MMUST (62-6) and Daystar Falcons (56-0) on the opening rounds. Kubu subsequently underwent an arthroscopy procedure to address a persistent knee issue that has troubled him since late 2023.

He slots straight into the fly-half role as Kabras prepare to face Heathens for the first time in a decade since their narrow 7-6 victory in a 2015 friendly in which he featured. Barry Robinson starts at scrum-half to partner Kubu in the halves.

In midfield, Walter Okoth pairs up with Derrick Ashihundu, while Griffin Chao retains his place on the left wing. Jackson Siketi returns on the right wing after recovering from a concussion that ruled him out of recent SVNS assignments and subsequent Kenya Cup matches, with Mathias Osimbo dropping to the bench. Eric Cantona continues at fullback.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

The front row features Emmanuel Otieno, Eugine Sifuna and Ephraim Oduor, with the latter making his first start since returning from suspension last weekend. The second row remains unchanged for the third consecutive matchday, as Hilary Odhiambo partners Shem Joseph.

The back row also retains its shape, with George Nyambua, Patrick Lumumba and Jeanson Misoga starting once again.

On the bench, Kabras are boosted by the return of David Bunduki from injury, alongside Brian Tanga, who captained the side during that 2015 win over Heathens.
