Kabras RFC utility back Jone Kubu has announced that he has successfully undergone arthroscopy as he looks to address a long-standing knee issue that has troubled him since late 2023.

Kubu was stretchered off during Kabras Sugar’s emphatic 72–10 win over Kisumu RFC in December 2023, an injury that forced him to stay out of action for almost a full year and later underwent surgery.

He eventually made his return in the 2024/25 season, showing glimpses of his trademark versatility and flair.

Despite earning selection to both the Kenya Simbas and the Shujaa squad on the World SVNS Series, the Fijian-born back could often be seen dragging his leg, an indication that the injury had not fully settled.

The medical procedure now sets him on a new recovery path, with hopes that he will return stronger for club and country once fully healed.
