Kabras RFC wrapped up their remarkable 2024/25 Kenya Cup and Enterprise Cup season with a glamorous end-of-season awards gala on Friday night.
The event, graced by players, coaches, club sponsors West Kenya Sugar Company, and Kakamega County Sports CEC Jackline Kakayi, was a celebration of excellence, dedication, and unforgettable moments on and off the pitch.
All winners received gift hampers and vouchers from the Rai Group of Companies on a night that fittingly honoured a season of triumph for Kabras RFC.
Kabras RFC Player of Year
Ntabeni Dukisa emerged as the night’s biggest winner, clinching the prestigious Player of the Year award after a sensational end to the season.
He also walked away as the club’s top point scorer, capping off a year of consistent brilliance.
Dukisa edged out fierce competition from Patrick Sabatia, who finished second, and Walter Okoth, whose command of the backline earned him third place and the Best Backline accolade.

The evening also shone a spotlight on upcoming talent, with Jibril Lugonzo claiming the Eric Shirley Shield Player of the Season award.
Jackton Osoo and Roy Maruti followed closely, with Osoo also earning recognition as the best forward in the ESS squad.
Victor Wawire, a promising product of Vihiga High School, was honoured for his performances in the backline.
In the senior ranks, Eugine Sifuna’s powerful performances earned him the Best Forward title, while Griffin Chao’s try-scoring prowess saw him finish as the top try scorer.
Barry Robinson was acknowledged for his defensive contributions, sharing the defensive honours with Lugonzo for their respective categories.
Sabatia’s impact throughout the season did not go unnoticed as he was named Impact Player of the Season, a recognition he shared with ESS star Mike Lukusi.

The leadership group comprising George Nyambua, Teddy Akala, Eugine Sifuna, and Geoffrey Shitambasi were celebrated for guiding the team both on and off the field.
There were emotional moments too, as long-serving players Brian Tanga, George Nyambua, Brian Juma, Jone Kubu, and Asuman Mugerwa received special recognition for their loyalty and service to the club.
Jeanson Misoga was named the Most Dedicated Player and also earned the Hard Man award for his grit throughout the season.
The Spirit of Rugby Award went to Barry Young and Valerian Tendwa for embodying the values of the game, while Bryceson Adaka was lauded as the Comeback Player of the Year following his return from injury and uncertainty around his future.

Memorable moments were not forgotten, with the win over Nondies in the Kenya Cup semifinal voted Best Team Moment.
Collins Indeche’s celebration earned him the Try Celebration of the Year, while the team’s emphatic 137-point win over Kisumu was hailed as the most memorable match performance.
The technical bench received a special nod for their tireless work, taking home the Best Trainer award.
