Kenya 7s booked a knock out slot against hosts Germany after maintaining a perfect record in the group stage. Shujaa secured victories against Chile, Portugal, and Japan, earning nine points.
Germany had topped Group A with seven points, managing two wins and a lose at the close of day 1. The wins against came against Georgia, and Papua New Guinea while Uruguay proved a complicated puzzle.
Germany were quick off the blocks, Makonnen straightening at the Shujaa defense line who couldn’t get a hold of him to score between the uprights. Germany taking a 7-0 lead much to the relief of the home crowd.
Kenya would reply quickly through Odongo, treating the world to a speed show, rounding his marker to reduce Shujaa’s deficit to two points.

Shujaa were quicker off the blocks, John Okoth bumping off two German bodies to score between the stcks, after a patient and daring buildup by the massively supported Kenyan side. Momentum now shifting the Kenyan way with a 17-12 lead.
Another period of sustained pressure would bear profits, Jakob Dipper cutting inside to a stretched out and unsuspecting Kenyan defense to score on the left near the uprights.
Kenya would blow a chance at another comeback in the match when Ambetsa with seemingly acres of green estate to access the try line tripped, Wekesa punished for not supporting his weight as he scrambled to cover the rack. Full time score 19-17.
