Zimbabwe Goshawks reveal squad to face Kenya Simbas

Zimbabwe Goshawks have announced their squad for the upcoming Mzansi Challenge match against the Kenya Simbas at Nakuru Athletic Club on Saturday 20 April.

The team features several players from their developmental side as they continue to build up towards the 2027 Rugby World Cup qualifiers. The team will be led by Hilton Mudariki, the captain of the Zimbabwe Sables, who will start at scrum-half.

In the starting XV, Kevin Nqindi, Neil Mawere, and Tawanda Mudyiwa will form the front row as the props, with Patrick Macklin and Tadiwanashe Gwashu as the locks.

Simba Sihara and Gideon Maseka will take on the flanker positions, while Aiden Burnett will play as the number 8.

The halfback combination will be led by Mudariki at scrum-half, with Takudzwa Musingwini as the fly-half.

Cletos Sunduza and Gamu Nekati will occupy the wing positions, while Tamuka Pamire and Russell Dinha will be the centers. Taddy Dzandiwandira will complete the starting lineup as the fullback.

The substitutes for the match include Bornwell Gwinji, Vuyiswa Mpofu, Brian Makamure, Tapiwa Muberekwa, Joseph Chigwida, Pride Nyameni, Ben Pattenden, Maclean Muhambi, and Aaron Juma.

The team is eyeing the first win in the competition this season. The last time these two side faced off in the Currie Cup, Goshawks won 22-21.
