Strathmore Leos winger Mathew Mogaya is set to be sidelined for months after undergoing an arthroscopic surgery.

The surgery was done to repair his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus tear. The club confirmed the development through a post on social media and wished him well in his recovery journey.

“Let’s wish our mercurial winger, Mathew Mogaya a swift recovery. He underwent an arthroscopic surgery to repair acl and meniscus tear. 27, Tayo!,” reads a post by Strathmore Leos.

Mogaya is expected to miss the National 7s Circuit preparations with the 2023 campaign set to kick off on 24/25 June 2023.

Strathmore Leos who are already going on with their preparations will be seeking better last season’s performance.

In 2022, they managed a podium finish with 100 points following victory in Christie 7s and a final appearance in the Kabeberi 7s.
