The Barthes Trophy is set to come to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday, April 30th, 2023, at the Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.

The day will begin with the seventh-place playoff between Uganda and Madagascar, set to kick off at 9:00 am local time. Both teams will be eager to end the tournament on a high note and secure a respectable finish.

U20 Barthes Trophy fifth place

Following that match, Zambia will take on Ivory Coast in the fifth-place playoff at 11:30 am. Both Zambia and Ivory Coast will be looking to improve on last years performance.

The bronze final, which will determine the third-place team of the tournament, will see former Champions Namibia take on Tunisia at 2:00 PM. Both teams have had strong showings throughout the competition and will be looking to finish with a medal.

The highlight of the day will undoubtedly be the Cup final, which will kick off at 4:30 pm between Kenya and Zimbabwe.

The hosts, Kenya, have been in scintillating form throughout the competition, and they will be hoping to clinch the title in front of their home crowd. Chipu will be keen to reclaim the title the relinquished last year.

Zimbabwe, on the other hand, will be looking to spoil the party and come out on top. The side which has already qualified for the 2023 World Junior Trophy slated for Nairobi will be eyeing back to back victories in the competition.

The Barthes Trophy has been a great showcase of young rugby talent, with some impressive performances throughout the tournament.

The final promises to be a thrilling encounter, with all four teams determined to leave everything on the field.
