Homeboyz Head Coach Oscar Okaron got a winning start in the Kenya Cup as his side defeated Mwamba RFC 19-13 in a Kenya Cup encounter played at RFUEA Grounds.
Mwamba however earn a losing bonus from the defeat. Kulabu were quick off the blocks scoring a through Felix Chacha’s try which went unconverted. Bryan Juma pulled back for the Deejays and Martin Juma converted for a 7-5 lead.
Mwamba lead cancelled
Chrispin Omondi’s penalty restored Mwamba’s lead but Brian Mutugi crossed over for their second try of the match with Juma converting for a 14-8 halftime lead.
In the final half. Homeboyz crossed over for an unconverted try through Juma while Mwamba responded via Michael Ochieng as scores changed to 19-13 in favour of the deejays who walk away with four points.
