Rugby on the Road are the winners of the Chebarbar 7s 2022 edition held at Eldoret Sports Club on Saturday 30 July after a 34-10 win over Arsonists Wazalendo in the final.
Brunson Madigu, Ronny Omondi, and Patrick Odongo scored five-pointers in the opening half for Rugby on the Road before Arsonists Wazalendo tried to stage a comeback.
Ayimba’s try
Gabriel Ayimba joined the score sheet in the final half to confirm Rugby on the Road’s lead. Odongo and Omondi each bagged their second tries at the start of the second half.

Deep in the second half, Joel Inzuga was red carded, an opportunity which Arsonists Wazalendo capitalized with an unconverted try.
Wazalendo pull back
Wazalendo pulled back through another try but was too late to come back. Rugby on the Road bagged kshs. 140,000 the win.
The 2022 edition was the Peace Edition, coming a fortnight before the general elections. The sole purpose of the tournament was preaching peace, timed to coincide with the upcoming general elections.
12 teams competed in this year’s event which made a return to the schedule after a five-year hiatus.
