Kenya Simbas training squad trimmed ahead of final camp

Kenya Simbas Head Coach Paul Odera has a 34-man squad in camp for the final training session ahead of the Rugby Africa Cup 15s scheduled for France from 1-10 July 2022.

The roster includes of 18 forwards, with the majority of players coming from the Kenya Simbas side that competed in the 2022 Currie Cup, finishing eighth in the standings.

Davis Chenge and Martin Owilla who did not travel to South Africa have been included in the training team, as have, Eugene Sifuna, and Teddy Akala, who joined the group later in South Africa.

The team has 16 backs, which has been reinforced by the return of Fijian-born playermaker Jone Kubu, who has returned after a brief vacation in Fiji. Collins Injera, Geoffrey Ominde, and Jacob Ojee are also on the team.

The side resumed training this week with six players set to be dropped at the end of the week.  KRU has confirmed that Head Coach Paul Odera will name the final 28 man travelling party in Nairobi on Friday 24 June 2022.
