Strathmore Leos are the Christie 7s Champions having beaten KCB Rugby 15-10 in the final played at RFUEA Grounds on Saturday.
Leos have ended KCB’s 11-match winning streak in the 2022 National 7s Circuit to with the 55th edition of the Christie 7s.
It was a repeat of last weekend’s final which Strath lost 12-10. Looking to avenge the defeat, Louis Kisia charges started off strongly.
The ball being shifted to the right side off a ruck to find Philemon Olang who turned his markers inside out before racing clear to score the opening try.
The lead doubled when co-captain Barnabas Owuor went over for the second try which also went unconverted.
Geoffrey Okwatch pulled back for the bankers before Mathew Mogaya’s try ensured a 15-5 lead at the halftime break for Strathmore.
In the final half, Levy Amunga grabbed the second try for the Bankers but Strathmore held on.
Menengai Oilers once again settled for the third spot as they edged Western Bulls 12-7 in the bronze battle.
Mwamba Rugby Club also finished fifth just like last weekend. They beat host Kenya Harlequins 26-5.
Homeboyz claimed the challenge trophy beating Daystar 26-14.
