Three months ago, Menengai Oilers Head Coach Gibson Weru confirmed they have acquired the services of Kenyan International Dalmas Chituyi but five matches into the Kenya Cup season, he is yet to make a single appearance for the club.

Gibu has explained that the back-rower is yet to make his long-awaited debut due to a technical issue on his transfer.  The coach is confident they will sort out the issue during the December midseason transfer window and he expects the forward to be in action in January.

“Dalmas is yet to play because we have a technical issue in terms of his transfer we will have to sort it out during the December window and then he will be good to go,” he said.

Scrummage understands the issue is that the forward has not been officially released by his former employers Nakuru.  Chituyi last played in Kenya Cup in the for Homeboyz in 2017/18 season.

He was later selected to play for the National Team -Kenya Simbas where he featured in the Africa Gold Cup and Repechage where Kenya finished second and fourth respectively. He picked an injury that saw him stay out of the 2018/19 season.

He joins the likes of Derrick Keyoga and Harold Anduvate who are set to miss the remaining matches of 2019.

“Keyoga is still recovering from an arm injury while Anduvate is out, he will maybe play towards the end of the season. He is scheduled for surgery. We have a couple of guys out but it is giving other guys an opportunity to play. Its a tough spell but we will cope up,” He added.

Oilers face Nondies in Nakuru on Saturday.
