Nondies RFC have named an exciting 18-man squad for Saturday’s Ruff ‘N Tuff 7s at Ngong Racecourse, with highly-rated recruits Barnabas Owuor and Brian Ayimba set to make their debuts for the Rangers.

The duo headline a balanced squad that blends experienced campaigners with emerging talent as Nondies begin their campaign in Pool A against defending champions Strathmore Leos before facing Blak Blad RFC and Kenya Harlequin FC.

Owuor’s inclusion marks the beginning of a move that had been in the pipeline for months. The forward had been expected to join Nondescripts immediately after the January transfer window but remained at Strathmore Leos for the remainder of the season before eventually completing the switch.

His debut will be one of the major talking points heading into the tournament as the Rangers look to strengthen their squad ahead of the National Sevens Circuit.

Also set for his first appearance in Nondescripts colours is Brian Ayimba, who joins the club after previous stints with Homeboyz RFC and Mwamba RFC.

Sevens coach Francois Ndonga has also recalled former Kenya 7s speedster Lameck Ambetsa, who returns to the side after missing recent action due to work commitments. His return provides a timely boost as Nondescripts target a strong start to the season.

The squad also features several exciting young talents, including Tony Fidens, whose performances continue to attract attention.

Captain Ronnie Omondi will lead a squad that also includes Moses Begi, Isaac Karanja, Timothy Lugalia, Ian Mumbwani, Geoffrey Magoro, Charles Odhiambo, Ryan Odua, Crispin Omondi, Victor Rogena, Fred Shisia, Sankara Wafula and Kinyua Waiyaki.

Nondescripts have been drawn in a challenging Pool A alongside defending champions Strathmore Leos, Blak Blad RFC and Kenya Harlequin FC.

The Rangers open their campaign against Strathmore Leos at 9:36 a.m., before taking on Blak Blad RFC at 11:24 a.m. and concluding the pool stage against Kenya Harlequin FC at 12:50 p.m.
