As the 2026 Uganda Rugby Union (URU) season approaches, several top-flight clubs have been busy strengthening their squads with key signings and loans.
Pirates have added depth to their squad with the acquisitions of Ariho Muhumuza from Impis, and Rhinos duo Davis Shimwa and Daniel Musyoka, all joining on permanent transfers.
Kobs have been active in the market, bringing in Brian Wandera (Rams), experienced Scott Oluoch (Heathens), William Lukwago (Mongers), Emmanuel Odong (Buffaloes) and Eugene Mwesigwa (Mongers). Arthur Opio also joins the club on loan from Rhinos, adding versatility to their squad.

Plascon Mongers have bolstered their ranks with Salim Katumba (Elgon Wolves), Shakim Sembusi (Walukuba), Nsubuga Joel (Kisubi Pacers), Tumusiime Moses (Warriors), Arnold Musaasizi (Buffaloes), and Bravis Bukenya (loan from South Coast Pirates), giving the club a strong mix of youth and experience.
Rhinos have strengthened their roster by signing Sedyabane Emmanuel from Impis, Wembabazi Job from Kobs, and Victoria Sharks pair Eyoti Meshack Asivua and Mugaga Deogratius, aiming to enhance both their forwards and backs.
Finally, Kigezi Silverbacks have secured Musasizi Boaz from Heathens to reinforce their squad ahead of the new season.
