Zambia 7s are set to make their return to the annual Safari 7s tournament, scheduled for 10–12 October 2025.
The Zambians last featured in the competition in 2019 and missed the 2021, 2023, and 2024 editions.
Safari 7s confirmation
Their participation for 2025 was confirmed by the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) via their social media pages on Monday.
“Confirmed! Zambia Rugby will be participating in the #2025Safari7s men’s category,” KRU announced.
Their inclusion adds to a growing list of teams for the men’s competition, including Kenya’s Shujaa and Morans, KCB Rugby, Shogun Rugby, and French Renegades.
In the women’s category, Kenya Lionesses 1 and 2, along with Tunisia, are among the expected participants.

The 2025 Safari 7s will return to Nyayo National Stadium for the first time since 2021, when Shujaa defeated Germany in the final to lift the trophy.
The 2023 edition was hosted at the RFUEA Grounds, while the 2024 tournament took place at Machakos Stadium.
This will be the fourth time the 35,000-seater Nyayo National Stadium hosts the tournament, having previously staged the event in 2011 and 2012 after growing attendance numbers outgrew the RFUEA Grounds.
Kenya’s Shujaa and Costa Blanca Ladies are the reigning champions, having claimed the men’s and women’s titles respectively at the 2024 tournament in Machakos.
