The Kenya Rugby Union has announced dates for the mid-season transfer window as the Kenya Cup and lower tier campaign takes a break.
According to KRU’s statement, the midseason transfer window will swing open on December 20, 2023 and clubs are expected to be done with their businesses by January 2, 2024.
“The mid-season transfer window as declared will open on 20th December 2023 and it will close on 02.01.2023 at 11:59 pm. Kindly note the following. It is the responsibility of clubs to duly register all their players,” the statement revealed.

“A transfer is only considered complete upon: submitting a duly filled-up transfer form(s), signed by both parties and sent to the KRU Competitions desk before the transfer deadline, payment of the requisite transfer fees to KRU by the said date.
“A club can only deny a transfer request by a player based on the criteria spelled out in the KRU Regulations. On non-response from the approached club, we shall assume acceptance of the offer and allow the transfer to proceed, upon payment of the prescribed fees. The player registration system shall be closed from 02.01.2024. The register will thereafter be published. Clubs are advised not to field players not duly registered by them,” the statement concluded.
The season will resume on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
