The Kenya Cup campaign got underway impressively with the big sides picking huge wins on the league’s opening day.

Kabras RFC winger Derrick Ashihundu had a brilliant return to Kenya Cup landing four tries against Kisumu RFC to lead the top scorer’s chart with four tries.

He was making his maiden Kenya Cup appearance since March 2022, having sustained an injury during the 2022 National Sevens Circuit against Daystar Falcons in the final leg held in Kakamega.

According to statistics released by Kenya Cup, no player bagged a hat trick on day one but several players had braces.

Beldad Ogeta, Austin Sikutwa, Javan Otieno, Laban Kipsang, Patrick Mwakina and George Nyambua have two tries each.
