With South Africa and Kenya 7s already qualified for the 2025 World 7s Series, the Challenger Series slots will be up for grabs for the remaining 10 teams.

South Africa has been placed in Pool C, replacing Ghana, who are now expected to skip the event. This adjustment means that Zimbabwe Cheetahs, Zambia, and Algeria will face off against South Africa in Pool C.

The other pools remain unchanged. In Pool A, Kenya 7s, who won the 2023 edition by defeating South Africa 17-12 in Harare, will compete against Nigeria, Madagascar, and hosts Mauritius.

Pool B will see the 2022 champions Uganda 7s take on Burkina Faso, Tunisia, and Ivory Coast. Uganda enters the event after missing out on an Olympic ticket following a quarterfinal loss to eventual winners South Africa.
