Maseno School emerged victorious as the Kisumu County 7s Rugby Champions after defeating Otieno Oyoo 7-0 in a tightly contested final at Maseno School on Saturday.
The two halves of the match was closely fought, with neither team yielding easily.

The deadlock was broken by scrum-half Philip Patrick, whose quick thinking off a scrum-down allowed him to seize the ball and sprint to score the sole try of the match.
Philip Patrick’s decisive play proved to be the heroics that secured Maseno School’s victory and extended their reign as the dominant force in the county rugby scene.
Both Maseno School and Otieno Oyoo had already secured their spots in the upcoming Nyanza Region games prior to the final.

Otieno Oyoo, under the guidance of former Administration Police coach Oscar Okaron, upset Nyabondo High School in the semifinals with a 17-5 victory, ending an eight-year drought to qualify for the regional tournament.
In their journey to the final, Otieno Oyoo showed resilience, starting with a 7-7 draw against Kisumu Day in the group stage and progressing with a 26-0 win over Nyamasaria in the final pool match. They further advanced by defeating Onjiko 10-5 in the Cup quarterfinals.
Maseno School, coached by Sebastian Makalek, displayed their prowess with a commanding 49-0 win over Kisumu Day in their semifinal match, setting the stage for their triumph in the county championship final.
