South Coast Pirates picked the first win of the season in the KRU Championship beating Mombasa 24-3 at Seacrest Grounds.

The Pirates took an early lead through Collins Kabayo’s try, which was converted by their coach Kevin Amiani who had started at fly, giving them the necessary momentum to push forward and dominate the game.

Mombasa RFC tried to respond with a valiant effort, managing to score three points and narrow the deficit to 07-03. However, their efforts were short-lived as the Pirates widened their lead with a try from Evans Mwakio and extras from Amiani.

Throughout the game, the Pirates’ defence was impenetrable, denying Mombasa RFC any real opportunities to score. Their attacking play was equally impressive.

Captain Charles Okwemba scored a try for the Pirates, but unfortunately, it was not converted. The Pirates remained in control, and Mwinyi Juma’s final try sealed the deal, ending the match with a final score of 24-03.
