Kenya 7s have retained the Safari 7s title after a 19-0 win over Samurai 7s in the final played at RFUEA Grounds on Sunday.
Shujaa entered the final undefeated, aiming for a back-to-back title, while Samurai sought to reclaim the title they last secured in 2019 with a 21-14 victory over Shujaa.
Kenya 7s tries
Under the leadership of Kevin Wambua, the squad started impressively, with Speedster Patrick Odongo scoring the opening try. Shujaa maintained a slim lead at the halftime break.
In the second half, an overload on the right allowed Kevin Wekesa to race for a try, extending the lead to 12-0. Shujaa continued to exert pressure on Samurai, capitalizing on a numerical advantage after the Samurai were reduced to six players.

Odongo scored another try, and Shujaa successfully kept Samurai at bay, securing a victory. Coach Wambua and his technical bench maintained an impressive unbeaten streak of 12 matches.
In the women’s category, the Uganda Lady Cranes surprised the Kenya Lionesses with a 15-12 win, earning them the Safari 7s women’s title. Uganda finished third in the competition with a comfortable 31-5 victory, while Kenya Morans claimed fifth place with a 26-0 win.
