Makueni Ravens RFC appoint Owiti as new Head Coach

Makueni Ravens RFC have announced a change in their technical leadership, with long-serving Head Coach Kennedy Munyao stepping down from his role and Assistant Coach Brezzneve Owiti taking over as the club’s new Head Coach with immediate effect.

In a statement released by the club’s Board of Directors, Makueni Ravens described the transition as the beginning of a new chapter in the club’s continued growth while paying tribute to Munyao’s immense contribution over the years.

“The Board of Makueni Ravens RFC wishes to announce a transition in the club’s technical leadership, with Mr. Kennedy Munyao stepping down from his role as Head Coach and Mr. Brezzneve Owiti being appointed as the club’s new Head Coach with immediate effect.

This decision marks the beginning of a new chapter in the continued growth and development of Makueni Ravens RFC while honoring the remarkable contribution of one of the club’s most dedicated servants,” the club announced.

Munyao has been a central figure in the club’s journey, serving in multiple capacities including player, club captain, and ultimately Head Coach. The club credited him with helping shape the culture, identity, and values that define Makueni Ravens RFC today.

During his tenure, the club experienced significant growth both on and off the field, strengthening its competitive standing while nurturing emerging talent and building a strong foundation for future success.

“The Board, management, players, supporters, sponsors, and the wider Ravens family remain profoundly grateful for his years of dedicated service and sacrifice,” the statement read.

The club further emphasized that Munyao’s legacy would remain an important part of the Makueni Ravens story and expressed hope that he would continue supporting the club in different capacities moving forward.

Attention now turns to Brezzneve Owiti, who steps into the role after serving as Assistant Coach within the club’s technical bench. According to the Board, Owiti has played an instrumental role in the team’s recent development and possesses a strong understanding of the club’s philosophy and long-term vision.

The Board expressed confidence in Owiti’s ability to build on the progress already made and guide the club towards achieving its sporting ambitions.
