After one season with varsity side Daystar Falcons,  Mboi found a new some in Nakuru, joining Gibson Weru charges in the just concluded transfer window and Nakuru Showground will be his next home for the upcoming season.

Mboi on Daystar stay

Speaking to the Scrummage Africa, he described his stay at Daystar as a fruitful one in which he used to learn many things.

“My stay at Daystar was transformative. This was where I got to play club rugby for a whole season. I got to know how to adapt to new coaches’ way of play and new players around me,” he said.

“I also got a chance to be able to play alongside a very energetic team. A team where we considered each other to be more than just teammates but family.”

On his move to Menengai, he says that he felt he was ready to play in the Kenya Cup after a whole season playing in the championship which he used to gain experience.

After a few training sessions with the Oilers, he got his debut in the green and blue jersey during the Impala Floodies tournament against Impala RFC where he ended up scoring a brace.

“My debut at Menengai was breathtaking. I managed to score twice. It was a privilege for me to play alongside some members of the Kenya Simbas. It was a great debut for me and I look forward to having more of them and giving superb performances in the Oilers jersey.”

On adapting to changes, he noted that he is ready to learn from his new teammates.

“My stay at Menengai is great. Having a new team, new family, same energy as Daystar or maybe even better.”
