Mombasa-based Likoni rugby women’s team is set to undergo a groundbreaking moment as they make their first-ever appearance in the Kenya Cup qualification tourney in a two-day event that commences this Friday 2nd and 3rd November in Nakuru.
The Likoni women’s have been making significant strides since its establishment in 2013. Head Coach Denis Gem has exuded confidence in his team while banking on skills to secure victory in the qualifiers.
“Well, we are definitely the smallest side in the Tournament but we will have to rely on skills and creating opportunities by playing in the opponents’ territory so we can pile pressure and hopefully get points from it,” he told the Scrummage Africa.4
