Kenya 7s journey at the Toulouse 7s ended with a 28-12 13th place semi-final loss to Japan in a match played on Sunday.
Moeki Fukushi scored the opening try for the Japanese after three minutes of play and it was converted f0r a 7-0 lead. Taiga Ishida doubled the lead two minutes later after also grabbing a converted try.
Timo Fiti Sufia took the scores to 21-7 before Bush Mwale pulled back with a converted try for a 21-7 scoreline.
Japan’s Ishida returned to the scoresheet with a converted try after leaving Kenya’s defence well beaten for a 28-7.
Benson Salem Adoyo would grab his first try of the World 7s Series after Johnstone Olindi set him up with a grabber kick for Kenya’s second try.
The loss sees Kenya 7s end the tournament with just one win which came against Wales. Shujaa now shift focus on the London 7s scheduled for Twickenham next weekend.
