Kenya Simbas lock Emmanuel Mavala has joined Polish side RC Orkan Sochaczew, Scrummage understands.
According to Polish outlet Tusochaczew, the former Homeboyz captain joined the Ekstraliga side on October 17th together Kenyan International Joshua Chisanga who was with the side in 2018. Details of their deal with the side are, however, scanty at the moment.
They were drafted in the starting squad two days later and Mavala went on to make his debut appearance for Sochaczew in their 35-14 loss to league leaders Master Pharm Rugby Łódź.
Chisanga, who was making his first appearance for the side since 2018 scored a try in the loss. The two Kenyan Internationals have been part of the Homeboyz set up in the past few seasons.
They featured in Kenya Simbas Victoria Cup’s 36-14 win over Zimbabwe at Nakuru Athletic Club.
This marks Chisanga’s third stint in Europe with his first being in 2016 when he made history of being the first Kenyan to play in England’s top rugby union Premier League, the Aviva Premiership after signing for Newcastle Falcons.
Last year he became the first Kenyan professional player to ply his trade in Eastern Europe after joining Orkan Sochaczew where he spend close to eigth months before returning home.
