Strathmore Leos name squad for Friday’s fixture against Kabras RFC

Strathmore Leos have named a full-strength 23-man squad for their Kenya Cup encounter against Kabras Sugar, set for Friday January 16, 2026 at Kakamega Showground.

This fixtures was shifted to Friday to allow Strathmore Leos attend the burial of Felix Chano Ouma who will be laid to rest on Saturday.

The forwards are anchored by a front row of Raymond Chacha, Dennis Tubei and Ian Masheti, with Thomas Opio and Reagan Juma partnering in the second row.

The back row trio of Stanslaus Shikoli, Samuel Wafula and Dennis Mbilah completes the forwards lists.

In the half-back pairing, Brian Mwendwa starts at scrum-half with Arnold Muita pulling the strings at fly-half. The midfield will feature Morgan Ochiel and Elton Amalemba, while pace and finishing out wide are offered by Collins Maina and Nahashon Mwangemi. Amon Wamalwa slots in at fullback to complete the starting XV.

The bench offers depth across all positions, with Maxwell Atera, Bramwel Anekea and Jack Angawa covering the front row, Duke Odenyo providing lock cover, and Barnabas Owuor adding loose forward options. Daryl Wendo, Felix Njenga and Victor Sanganyi give backline cover and impact off the bench.

The match will also be played in loving memory of the late Ouma, as the Leos look to put in a spirited performance against Kabras Sugar in their Kenya Cup campaign.
