The Prinsloo 7s heads to the Nakuru Athletic Club this weekend, August 2–3, as the second leg of the 2025 National Sevens Circuit gets underway.

Named in honour of the late Pete Walter (Peter) Prinsloo, a South African rugby player who made a lasting impact on the Nakuru rugby scene during the 1980s, the tournament was established as a tribute to his contributions.

Prinsloo’s enduring passion for the sport despite suffering severe health setbacks that left him wheelchair-bound remains the inspiration behind the annual event.

Strathmore Leos are the defending champions, having edged Nondescripts in a thrilling final to claim the 2024 Prinsloo 7s title. Kabras Sugar won the title in 2023, while the home side Nakuru RFC last lifted the trophy in 2015.
