Butula High School were crowned Busia County 7s Champions following a commanding 40-5 win over Kolanya in the final played on Saturday.
The former National 7s Champions now head to the regional games as Busia County’s top-seeded team and will be joined by Kolanya, Mundika, and Nambale High School.
Qualified teams
They join a growing list of schools that have already qualified for the regional competition, including Chavakali, Vihiga, Senende, and Kegoye from Vihiga County; Musingu, St. Peters, Koyonzo, and Kakamega School from Kakamega County; and Kibabii, Bungoma, Kapsokwony, and Friends School Kamusinga from Bungoma County.
To reach the final, Butula defeated Nambale 24-0 in the semifinals, while Kolanya overcame Mundika 22-10 in the other semi.

In the girls’ category, Nanderema were crowned champions after a 10-5 win over Sisenye in the final. Both teams, alongside Busiada and Chakol Girls, will represent Busia County at the regional level.
