MMUST Rugby extended their winning streak to nine consecutive matches this season as they triumphed over former Kenya Cup side, Homeboyz, 24-18 in the early kickoff at CUEA Grounds to retain their place at the top of the table.
The league leaders came from behind to lead 12-8 at the break. Homeboyz initially took the lead with an unconverted try from fullback Brian Juma, who later added a penalty, giving them an 8-0 advantage.
MMUST response
MMUST responded through fullback Byron Ogada, whose try was not converted, cutting the gap to just three points.
The students took the lead before halftime when Ogada scored his second try of the match, with Veron Kaburu successfully converting to give MMUST a 12-8 lead.

After the break, MMUST extended their lead with an unconverted try from Martin Masika. Homeboyz responded with a converted try from Augustine Simiyu, narrowing the score to 17-13.
MMUST then secured a bonus point when Co-captain Collins Ngoko for a converted try, pushing the score to 24-13. Kaburu added the extras.
Despite a late try from a Homeboyz substitute, MMUST held firm to maintain their unbeaten run and top spot in the league with 43 points.
