Asati and Wabwire in as KCB Rugby effect changes for Quins, Onyala set for ESS

KCB Rugby have announced several changes to their Matchday squad ahead of their Kenya Cup encounter against Kenya Harlequin, scheduled for Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the KCB Sports Club.

In the front row, Patrick Ouko and Fidel Maina have been brought in to replace Nick Okullo and Griffin Musila as the loosehead prop and hooker, respectively, while Wilhite Mususi retains his position as the loosehead prop.

Emmanuel Silungi will partner with Andycole Omolo, who steps in for Olukusi in the second row.

Steve Wamai and Manasseh Oduor have been dropped from the flanker positions, with Elvis Olukusi shifting to the flank. He will coordinate with Felix Ojow and captain Davis Chenge, who will play at number eight, to complete the back row.

Michael Wanjala and Emmanuel Opondo remain as the halfbacks, while in the midfield, Elphas Odunga and Tyson Maina come in for the dropped Bob Muhati and Jacob Ojee.

The wingers stay the same where Michael Wamalwa will occupy the left wing, while Austin Sikutwa will be on the right. Isaac Njoroge replaces Elvis Namusasi at fullback.

Floyd Wabwire will be on the bench, eager to make his first appearance for the bankers, alongside Wilfred Waswa, Erick Miheso, Rocky Aguko, Levy Amunga, Jack Adero, Manasseh Oduor, and Olympian Samuel Asati.

Meanwhile, the ESS squad has also been released. Nick Okullo, Griffin Musila, and Derrick Juma will form the front row, while Steve Wamai and Brian Munyali take on the lock positions.

Reagan Juma and Felix Makokha will serve as flankers, with Captain Peter Waitere positioned at number eight.

Brian Wahinya is set to play scrum-half, with Smith Muhoya as fly-half. The midfield features Bob Muhati and Vincent Onyala, while Bramwel Kilwake and Eugene will be the wingers. Lionel Ajelit is the fullback.
