New Kenya Cup side South coast Pirates are set to miss three of their players in their crucial away match against Impala RFC at the Impala grounds on Saturday 7th December, 2024.
In a statement the club announced that Bakari Hassan, Charles Tendwa will be sidelined due to injury issues while Brighton Omondi is also ruled out after being handed a one-week suspension by KRU disciplinary committee following a red card against Kabras.

According to the club Bakari Hassan, one of the Pirates’ standout performers, suffered a knee injury during training, an MRI revealed that he had torn his ACL while Charles Tendwa is said to be nursing a hamstring injury and is set to be sidelined until January 2025, leaving a significant gap in the squad.
“Bakari Hassan suffered an ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) injury that is completely torn according to the MRI report, but there is no broken bone. For now, he is waiting for the swelling to go down before seeking surgical assistance. His season has come to an unfortunate end,” Pirates announced.

“Charles Tendwa has a hamstring injury and will not be on the field until January 2025.
“Brighton will not play for one week according to the decision of the KRU disciplinary committee,” the club announced.
South Coast Pirates setback
The injuries are a major setback to the coastal side who are partcipating in the top tier league for the first time and are looking for their first win having suffered a 95-05 loss to former kenya Cup champions KCB and another 45-03 loss to reigning champions Kabras in their second match.
South Coast Pirates’ clash against Impala RFC will be a repeat last year’s KRU Championship final which Pirates won and earned their promotion to the top tier league for the first time in their history.
