Two tries in the first half and another in the second half were enough to hand Blak Blad 23-0 past a scoreless Impala side in a 3.00pm fixture played at the Blad Bin.
Blak Blad started on a high, former Kenyan International Archadius Khwesa taking advantage of an unsuspecting Impala defence to pick off the ruck before producing a clean pair of heels to open the scoring barely three minutes into the fixture. Fly-half Daniel Oyoo would then split the uprights to make it 7-0 barely three minutes into the clash.

The home team on the ascendancy would then score off a lineout set piece, Derrick Wechuli benefitting this time round, fending off one marker to dot down in the corner. Oyoo’s attempt at adding the twos was unsuccessful this time around to leave the scores at 12-0.
Both teams would trade attempts at splitting the uprights from the penalty kicks to no avail as Blad got on the backfoot with the try scorer Wechuli being shown his marching orders after a failed interception.
Impala number nine would miss two further attempts from the boot as the away team struggled to find their way through a resolute Wan Yudhee defence despite extended periods of possession as the referee brought first-half proceedings to stop with the scores still locked at 12-0 in favour of the home team.
Both teams kicked off the second stanza strongly, Impala first to smell blood with multiple linebreaks through the centre, but failing to capitalise on the begging chances. Blad would pull ahead from Oyoo’s boot after Impala were penalised a few meters shy of their 22-meter line for a 15-0 lead.
Blad would extend their lead to 18-0 after skipper Obat Kuke successfully turned over the ball at the thirty-meter mark for Oyoo to slot in the three.

Supporter at the bin would be treated to a spectacular try, as Kenya u-20 international Elvis Otete would receive the ball in space from scrumhalf Derrick Masese at the 50-meter mark before stepping past two defenders and fending off another to dot down in the corner to raise the decibels at the Blad Bin. Oyoo would miss the extras to leave matters at 23-0.
Otete would be denied what would be Blad’s moments later, the touch judge calling for a step out to cancel his corner try after a turnover at the centre of the pitch by Obat who was proving to be a nuisance for the Impala attack saw the home team make the most of the attacking opportunity.
Blad would be forced to finish the game with thirteen men on the pitch after two of their me were sent to the naughty chair as emotions flared in the dying moments of the match. The center referee called an end to the match with scores at 23-0.
