The 24th edition of the National 7s Circuit is set to conclude this Saturday at Nakuru Athletics Club during the Prinsloo 7s.

Defending champions KCB Rugby are eager to retain their title after securing it in 2023, when they accumulated 113 points in last year’s tournament.

As the competition heats up, Scrummage Africa takes a look at the teams that have claimed the National 7s Circuit titles since the tournament’s inception in 1999.

Impala, KCB Rugby, and Mwamba have each won four titles, making them the most successful teams in the history of the National 7s Circuit.

Impala claimed the inaugural title in 1999 and completed a three-peat with victories in 2000 and 2001. They added another championship in 2004, their last to date.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

Mwamba won their first title in 2007, retained it in 2008, and added back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011.

KCB first won the title in 2013 and retained it in 2014. They reclaimed the championship in 2019 and won it again in 2023.

Kenya Harlequin have won three titles, with their first coming in 2005. They now stand on the verge of ending a 12-year wait for another championship, needing to reach the semi-finals this weekend to secure the title.

Ulinzi and Homeboyz have each won the title twice, while Strathmore, Nakuru RFC, Kabras RFC, and Menengai Oilers have each won one title.
