St Mary’s Yala have once again retained the Nyanza Region 7s title, securing a 24-5 victory over Anjego at Cardinal Otunga Mosocho.
The titleholders dominated the match with four tries, restricting Anjego to just one unconverted try.
St Mary’s Yala tries
Albert Otieno scored two tries, while Joseph Onyango and Angelo Opingo each added one try for Yala. Angelo also successfully made two conversions, cementing the 24-5 win.
Yala advanced to the final after their 12-7 victory over Kisii School was upheld, despite the match being interrupted in its final seconds.
In this match, played on Friday, Joseph Onyango and Angelo Opingo each scored a try, with Angelo managing one try.

In the second semi-final played on Saturday, Anjego secured a 24-17 win over Otieno Oyoo to reach the final.
Both St. Mary’s Yala and Anjego are now assured a place in the Nationals, set to be held at Kisii School.
Kisii join St Mary’s Yala
Kisii School defeated Otieno Oyoo 17-12 in sudden death to qualify for the Nationals.
Otieno Oyoo will be on the waiting list and will qualify if Northern Eastern does not field a team.
In the girls’ competition, Nyakach Girls were crowned the winners after dethroning Nyagichenche with a 5-0 victory. Nyakach and Nyagichenche will be joined in the Nationals by Nyakongo and Sidindi, with Nyakongo edging out Sidindi 12-10 in their match.
