Kenya Cup outfit Kisumu RFC have been dealt with a major setback after the result of their match against Blak Blad was nullified.

According to a communique to clubs, the league and fixtures committee has made decisions regarding the cases presented to them and it has ruled that the match is nullified and has to be replayed in a neutral venue.

“Following the misconduct report presented for the match played on 13th January 2024 regarding M O.A, the match has been nullified and SHALL be reconvened again at a neutral ground ” read part of the ruling seen by Scrummage Africa.

The match initially played at Mamboleo Stadium ended prematurely and Kisumu RFC got four points by leading 17-15 by the time of abandonment.

The match, ended prematurely after the centre referee called off the match with almost 15 minutes before regular time after a section of fans allegedly chanted abusive words towards him.

Chalking off four points will leave Kisumu 10th on the log but with eight points. This will mean they will be only two points above Catholic Monks and six above Homeboyz. Kisumu will welcome Kenya Harlequins this Saturday in Kisumu.
