The 2025 Uganda Rugby Premiership is set to crown a new champion after the Stanbic Black Pirates and Jinja Hippos secured their spots in the final with thrilling semifinal victories.
Defending champions Platinum Credit Heathens saw their title hopes dashed after falling to the Stanbic Black Pirates in the second leg of the semifinals held at Kings Park Arena, Bweyogerere, on Saturday, May 4, 2025.
The Pirates booked their place in the final with a 25-19 win in the return leg, completing a 42-31 aggregate victory after winning the first leg as well. Jinja Hippos, on the other hand, pulled off a dramatic comeback against KOBs, winning the second leg 27-22 at Legends Rugby Grounds.

The result overturned their 25-22 first-leg loss, giving them a narrow 49-47 aggregate edge.
Stanbic Black Pirates and Jinja Hippos will now clash in the highly anticipated Nile Special Rugby Premiership final, scheduled for Saturday, May 10.
The match presents Jinja Hippos with a golden opportunity to claim their first-ever top-flight XVs title in Ugandan rugby history.
