Ruthless Menengai Oilers revel in demolition job against Mwamba

Menengai Oilers registered their third win of the season with a 94-09 scoreline against Mwamba RFC in a Kenya Cup matchday three match played at ASK Showground Nakuru on Saturday 7 December, 2024.

The oilmen started strong with Elkeans Musonye handing them the first try minutes into the game with Omela Okwemba’s conversion sailing through for 07-00 lead.

Youngster Brian Achacha opened his account for the Oilers with a beautiful try with Okwemba making no mistakes in the conversion to extend their lead to 14-00.

As the halftime approached Oilers proved their dominance with tries from Musonye and Achacha bringing the scores to 26-00.

Mwamba RFC managed to score three penalties to make matters 26-09 at the break.

The final half saw hosts Oilers extend their dominance with tries from Vincent Mwikhali, Omela Okwemba, Amos Obaeh with Abutwalib Wesonga adding the extras for a 47-09 lead.

Oilers coach Gibson Weru made changes later and brought in Speedster Beldad Ogeta who earned his name on the scoresheet with a superb try bringing the scores to 54-09 in favour of the Oilmen.

Beldad Ogeta completed his brace as the game approached full-time before Destrious Ifedha scoring the last try for Oilers with Abutwalib Wesonga adding the extras for 94-09 scoreline at full-time in favour of Oilers.

The win marked Oilers third victory of the season bringing their points tally to 15 after three matches.
