The much-anticipated match between the Kenya Legends and UK Tritons Vets, originally scheduled for Friday, November 8, 2024, at Impala Grounds, has been rescheduled.
According to a press release from the Kenya Legends, the match will now take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at RFUEA Grounds at 11:00 AM.
Kenya Legends to curtain raise
The match will serve as a curtain-raiser for the 2024 Elgon Cup between Kenya and Uganda, and will join the exciting line-up featuring Kenya Harlequin against KCB Rugby.
This change is intended to enhance the overall experience for fans and align with the significant occasion of the 2024 Elgon Cup.
Kenya Legends Chairman, Auka Gecheo, expressed excitement about the rescheduling, stating, “Postponing our match allows us to be part of a larger celebration of rugby in Kenya. We are thrilled to showcase our legends just before such an important fixture in the Kenya Rugby calendar, the Elgon Cup.”

Kenya Rugby Union CEO, Thomas Odundo, also applauded the move, highlighting its positive impact on the sport’s growth.
“This decision not only provides greater value for our fans but also strengthens the rugby community in Kenya. We are committed to creating memorable experiences that promote the sport and engage our supporters,” he remarked.
The Legends match is part of their preparations for the upcoming Dubai Sevens tour in December, where they will compete in the Vets category.
Meanwhile, the Simbas will be gearing up for the first leg of the 2024 Elgon Cup, with the return leg scheduled for November 16, 2024, in Uganda.
