Kenya 7s in France for promotion, Olympics camp

Kenya 7s will hold their training camp in Miramas, France, as part of their preparations for the HSBC SVNS playoffs in Madrid.

The team has safely arrived in Miramas after traveling from Munich and settled into the Team Kenya Camp organized by the National Olympics Committee.

This training is also part of their buildup towards the Paris Olympics.

In Madrid, Kenya 7s are placed in Pool B along with Spain, Samoa, and Chile.

Spain and Samoa, both of whom finished in the bottom four in the HSBC SVNS, will be making their playoff debut.

In contrast, Kenya 7s and Chile qualified for this competition by securing top-four finishes in the Challenger Series.

The National Olympics Committee of Kenya organized this training camp to ensure the team is well-prepared for the challenging task ahead.

Pool A features former Kenya 7s coach Mike Friday, now with the USA team, who will compete against Canada, Uruguay, and Germany.

Uruguay and Canada will be making their second consecutive appearances in the competition.

The top two teams from each pool will advance to the semifinals and secure a spot in the 2025 event.

Kenya 7s secured second place in the Challenger Series, accumulating 48 points throughout the season.
