Kisii School emerged victorious once again in the Nyanza Region Schools 15s games, securing a hard-fought 8-5 sudden-death triumph against a determined St. Mary’s Yala in the final showdown held at Kisumu Polytechnic on Saturday.
Lee Arstone’s squad entered the match determined to defend the title they had claimed the previous year.
Kisii School lead
They managed to take the lead in the first half, with Stafford Nyambane scoring a crucial try. However, Kisii couldn’t convert the try, settling for a 5-0 lead as they headed into halftime.
Maintaining their composure and defensive prowess, Kisii held onto their narrow lead as the game progressed. Yet, St. Mary’s Yala mounted a spirited comeback effort in the second half, eventually equalizing with a last-minute try, levelling the score at 5-5 and forcing the match into sudden death.
