Moses Nyaenya was Nondies hero as he nailed in a last minute penalty to give his side a 21-20 win over Strathmore Leos at RFUEA Grounds.
Nondies were first on board when Moseti Nyaenya nailed a 30m penalty but Strathmore Leos would respond minutes later with a drop goal to tie the scores at 3-3.
Moments later, Moseti Nyaenya stepped up again and slot in another penalty for Nondies to put his side 6-3 up. Strathmore Leos looked threatening all the half but they weren’t clinical enough fuelled by handling errors.
The Leos would finally found themselves on board few minutes before halftime break when Matoka Matoka booted in a penalty to tie the scores at 6-6.

In the second stanza, halftime pep talk from Nondies head coach looked to have inspired the Red Lions as they scored two quick tries just after the break to lead 18-6. Strathmore would pull one back moments later, Matoka Matoka converted the try to cut deficit to 18-13.
Indiscipline almost cost Nondies the game when Moses Begi and Ben Salem were sent to the bin. Strath would capitalise on the two man advantage and they landed a converted try through Nygel Amaitsa to take the scores to 18-20.
With the game approaching full time, an infringement by Leos in their own 22 proved to be their worst undoing as Moses Nyaenya stepped up again and struck a penalty to put his side up 21-20.
Nondies would hold on to that slim lead to win the game 21-20.
