Heathens Rugby qualify for Uganda Cup Semis

Heathens Rugby defeated Jinja Hippos 32-23 to qualify for the Uganda Cup semi Finals at the Makerere Grounds.

Hippos gave away the first 3 points to Heathens after a Penalty due to an offside call to rally 3-0 before they earned their own penalty which Hippos Fullback Yasin Wasswa took a long tee kick to put the Hippos back into the game.

Heathens then made their first line break to increase the gap 10-3 after a successful conversion.

Heathens in winning determination, found a chance and secured another try to sum their dominance 15-3 thanks to the scrum at the Hippos 22.

Heathens again secured another try to tally their leading score 22-3 from a lineout throw before Brighton Bakasa took a simple chance to punish their opponents after a lost ball by the Heathens to tally the scores 22-10 before the break.

Hippos got the first second half points after the Heathens failed to hold the scrum and Yasin Wasswa made a respect to the authority after Captain Aziz Bagalana opted for a tee to sum the board 22-13.

Hippos show determination and add a try and a successful conversion to tally their points 22-20 as they pace to deliver a comeback.

Yassin delivered one point over the Heathens after a successful penalty kick thanks to his golden legs to sum the scores 22-23.

The Heathens, determined for the win, took advantage of the 14 man difference to regain their winning streak with a 25-23 lead after a successful penalty kick after Fahad Maido was sent out for dangerous play before Shadon Munoko increased the gap with a well converted try to sum the scores 32-23 before the final whistle.
