MMUST Rugby Club were awarded maximum points in their away match against Mean Machine, which failed to kick off last Saturday at UoN Grounds.
The Kakamega-based side received full points based on Kenya Rugby Union regulations regarding delays in kick-off times, match abandonment, and player safety.
“The Kenya Rugby Union league fixtures committee has made decisions regarding the cases presented from recent matches. Mean Machine 00 – 28 Masinde Muliro – Masinde Muliro awarded full points guided by KRU regulations 13.6.4.4 (Delays in Kick-off times), 13.6.4.6 b(ii) (Match Abandonment) and regulations 8.3 a-c (Player safety),” reads a statement by KRU.
As a result, Mean Machine have been deducted two points heading into matchday three of the KRU Championship season. MMUST’s awarding of points propels them to the second spot on the league table behind leaders South Coast Pirates, who also have 10 points.

Daystar has dropped to third on the log with 10 points and a lower point differential. Impala Saracens, former Kenya Cup Champions, have collected nine points after back-to-back wins.
UoE Trojans are fifth with five points, Kabarak has three points after two matches, while JKUAT Cougars, USIU Martial, and Mombasa have no points in the competition. Mean Machine, yet to play this season, has negative -2 points, as well as Western Bulls.
