Rugby fanatics are set to be treated to a weekend of rugby at the Impala Grounds as the annual Impala Floodlit reaches 40th edition.
Eight teams have entered the top division of the competition which serves as a preseason for the Nairobi based teams.
Impala Floodlit defending Champs
Last year’s defending champions KCB who are also the 2023 national sevens circuit holders are set to play Ngong road based Kenya Harlequins in what is anticipated to be a cracker of a match. The match is slated for 7:30 PM.
Hosts Impala will be battle it out with varsity side Catholic Monks. Impala who are currently playing in the championship are seeking to use the tournament to help them build their team as they work towards promotion to Kenya cup after they failed to come back last season. The match will commence at 4:10 pm.

The other quarter will be an all varsity’s encounter. Strathmore Leos will face Kenyatta University Blak Blad in another cracker of a match.
Louis Kisia will be out to seek domination among universities as Strathmore have been regarded the best performing university side in the Kenya cup. However, Blak Blad are ready to give them a run for their money in the game that will start at 2:30 pm.
The other quarter is between 2022 finalists Nondescripts facing Menengai Oilers.
The Oilmen will be seeking to improve in 15s after they failed to impress in this year’s 7s Circuit. Nondies who earned back their Kenya cup promotion after being out for a whole season will be eyeing another good outing.
