Koyonzo Rugby 15s side braved the difficult weather conditions and edged Vihiga High School 5-0 to win the Western Region Prescott Cup in a match played at MMUST Grounds.
This was the fourth consecutive meeting between Koyonzo and Vihiga the previous three being in Western Region, National and East African rugby 7s finals with the Kakamega-based side winning all.
Koyonzo beat National Prescott Champs
As they faced off, Vihiga were seeking to defend the title they won in 2022 after beating Bungoma and went on to lift the National Prescott title.
In the match, the heavens opened immediately after the kick-off whistle. Vihiga went on to dominate in both halves but they were unlucky. Vihiga missed some penalty conversion attempts in both halves.
